Early life of Yael Eckstein
She was born in Illinois’ Evanston city and her schooling took place at Torat Chesed Seminary in Israel. She later moved to the United States for her completing her degrees from Queen’s College in New York City and later Hebrew University which is situated in Jerusalem. She has multiple degrees in Jewish studies, sociology, and biblical studies.
Marriage and moving back to Israel
She now lives with her husband and four children in Jerusalem. In 2005, she made aliyah and reached her father’s doorstep, eight days after making that decision along with her husband. While living there, she came to know about the work this charity was doing for the people and soon began interested in doing the same.
However, her father wanted her to become a lawyer. So, she went to Israel office where she worked for year stuffing envelopes. When she understood she has no advancement there, Yael Eckstein opted for a position in Chicago headquarters where she was offered the duties of calling donors. From there, her journey began and have served in various positions in this organization before becoming the President.
Apart from her work in the organization, she has written two books in 2012 and 2014. One was holy land reflections and the other one was Spiritual Cooking with Yael. She even writes op-eds for Jerusalem Post and Times of Israel along with posting blogs on her website. Also, she has been the speaker at various International events that gained her enough experience to hold this position in IFCJs.
